6 New Social Media Apps to look out for in 2021

There are several new social apps making their way into our lives and practically making us addicted to them. There are hundreds of social media apps but only 1% made an impact. Did you know that according to a recent study of social media in the United States, most people use an average of three of the top eight platforms

These days we all hear about Clubhouse and many of us are still wondering what is the buzz all about? Audio-based social media networks are trending in 2021 and Clubhouse is one of them.
There are many new apps other than clubhouse that is getting quite popular both amongst marketers and other professionals. Let’s have a look at these new apps that can change the way we communicate today:

Clubhouse App

1. Clubhouse

If you’re active on social media, you must have heard about this new buzzword called Clubhouse. It’s the new addition to the elite social media app club which has Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, and more.

Yes, it’s made and how.

The clubhouse is a great platform for professionals to share their ideas via audio and people are loving it.

It is an Invite-only app for now as it is still in the beta phase. If you want to partake in this new form of communication, you can get an entry via an existing user.

This exclusivity is what’s making it so attractive.

Who is using the Clubhouse you ask?

Communities who engage in real-time chats are making the most of this new app. Like Comedy clubs, keynote speakers, and thought leaders.

It was launched in 2020 and we must say have made an impact in a short time. We are not sure how it can help marketers yet, But everybody is talking about it, and it’s worth a look.

Twitter Spaces

2.  Twitter Spaces

Twitter spaces are also in its beta version but we can’t miss it as it is already making news mainly because it is largely similar to Clubhouse.

Twitter is using failures and mistakes made by Clubhouse to test out Twitter spaces and make them foolproof.

Twitter describes Spaces as a "place to come together, built around the voices of the people using Twitter, your Twitter community".

Just like Clubhouse conversations on Twitter spaces will be real-time and won’t be saved anywhere once they have ended.

For now, Spaces are public and anyone can join as a listener. If you create a Space, your followers will see it in their Fleets.

As we mentioned, Twitter spaces are still in their beta phase but it’s going to be as huge as Clubhouse is all we can predict.

Caffeine App

3. Caffeine

Caffeine is making waves in the world of entertainment and sports as it is a live broadcasting app that provides live streaming of interacting content like sports, games, and other entertainment shows.

It can help marketers if live streaming can help your company in marketing products or services and creating awareness.

It is kind of like a Competitor to Twitch but still has a long way to go.

Gamers love it as it organizes interactive gaming sessions in real-time without a second of lag.

Caffeine has many investors, the biggest being a 21st-century fox, and is certainly going to create some bug opportunities for many brands in selling their products.

They just have to figure how!

House party app

4. Houseparty

If you haven’t downloaded it already, do it right away. In a myriad of video calling apps, this one is the most fun.

It has been around for quite some time but has only recently gained this huge popularity.

House party offers Group video calls with fun filters and stickers and up to 8 users can use it at a time.

It has grown at a meteoric rate from 1 million to 50 million users in 2020. Even though Houseparty has many big competitors it is not going anywhere.

Even Marketers can use Houseparty to promote their products and services by hosting house parties and using an influencer to take over.

There’s one thing for sure, Marketers will have to get more creative with this one, and with such fun features, it’s going to be amazing.

Tapebook app

5. Tapebook

Yes, we said Tapebook not facebook.

This app allows you to record and only engage through short audio & videos.

You can record conversations with friends just by calling them or start a vlog/audio-log by recording solo.

Anyone can start a podcast now, just by calling their friends as Tapebook aims at making Podcasting social.

It allows Real-time recording, so you don't have to wait for file uploads like YouTube & Instagram.

Many active communities can use Tapebook for engaging with their members in real-time.

Tapebook is currently available for download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and will be releasing an Android version soon.

In a sea of budding social media apps, this one is worth a try.

Vero social media app

6. Vero

Vero labels itself “more social, fewer media”, as it focuses on providing an ad-free experience for its users.

Initially launched a couple of years ago, Vero became very popular last year.

It is very similar to the OG apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, one can post photos, videos, and links, share locations, or recommend books, music, and films.

But there’s one difference, it has no ads. Many individuals would love it for just this feature and might even pay for it.

Another great thing about Vero is that it has No algorithms rearranging your posts and limiting who sees what.

The app will eventually work on a subscription model, requiring users to pay a few dollars each year to keep it ad-free. Will you subscribe to this paid social media app?
